Ronan Keating said: `It`s a cop-out if you ask me. Fans are going for the nostalgia.`
Ronan Keating – frontman of the Irish boy band – criticised the ‘One Love’ hitmakers for disappointing their fans by choosing a less strenuous routine when they reunite at the weekend.
He said: “It’s a cop-out if you ask me. Fans are going for the nostalgia and so they will want to see Blue pulling out the dance moves.”
Blue – consisting of Lee Ryan, Duncan James, Antony Costa and Simon Webbe – are due to perform at Capital FM’s Summertime Ball at the Emirates Stadium in London on Sunday after a four-year break.
Ronan has offered to teach the British band some last-minute dance moves to help improve the show.
He added to Britain’s Daily Star newspaper: “Send the lads over and we’ll show them our moves. We all had to get super-fit because we’re up on stage for two hours. It’s hard work but you have to give people what they want.”
Meanwhile, Boyzone – also consisting of Stephen Gately, Shane Lynch, Keith Duffy and Mikey Graham – have been exerting themselves to the point of embarrassment on their current ‘Back Again… No Matter What’ tour.
Stephen revealed: “During my solo routine of Beyonce’s hit ‘Single Ladies’ I do all of the moves that she does in her amazing video. I was bending over and suddenly felt my trousers rip at the back. I shuffled off stage at the end carefully trying not to turn around.”
The Irish group are currently working on a new album which they hope to release later this year.
Stephen added: “We’re still looking for the right producer. I’m a massive fan of Lily Allen’s ‘The Fear’ so I’d be keen to get her producer Greg Kurstin.”
