Cannon suffers 'mild kidney failure'

ASPEN, Colo., Jan. 4 (UPI) -- Pop star Mariah Carey says her husband, television personality Nick Cannon, has been hospitalized in Aspen, Colo., after suffering "mild kidney failure."

People.com said the celebrity couple and parents of infant twins rang in the new year in Aspen last weekend before Cannon fell ill.

"Please pray for Nick as he's fighting to recover from a mild kidney failure. #mybraveman," the singer said via Twitter Wednesday in a message posted alongside a photo of her curled up next to Cannon in his hospital bed.

"Last year it was me attached to the machines (after having dembabies) and Nick was there with me through it, and now here we are," she added on her Web site. "Please keep us and our family in your prayers."

No other details regarding Cannon's condition or when he was admitted to the hospital were immediately available.

Cannon is the host of TV's "America's Got Talent."
