A train passenger tried to rob the former investigator `Bobby Dawson´, but wrongly evaluated him – he is a boxer.
Gerald McCullouch, who played the part of investigator Bobby Dawson in the popular criminal television series “CSI: Law Vegas”, was attacked in a New York subway.
The actor’s iPhone had lost all battery power, so he took his laptop out of his luggage bag (he was returning from a plane trip from L.A.), in order to charge his phone. At the same time he continued the edit a video that he started on the plane, when one of the passengers tried to pull the laptop from his hands. Gerald stopped him with a kick to the chest.
“I don’t know why I did that except that I box three or four days a week and had just been in the ring about eight hours before” “I didn’t want to give up my computer after working on my video all that time” he said for the New York Daily.
However, the story does not stop here. The robber took out a large kitchen knife from a plastic bag, and attacked the actor.
“I still had my headphones on with music blaring. I yelled at the top of my lungs, ‘Get the [….] away from me! That’s when the knife came down into my back. I don’t know whether he lost his grip or what, but the blade didn’t penetrate my leather jacket” said the actor.
The other passengers in the train used to opportunity to leave or go to another wagon. Somebody told the train guard about Gerald’s problem, so the police stopped the train half way down the next station so that the police could get in.
The arrested man, James Torres, was charged with robbery, assault, harassment, and carrying a dangerous weapon. The actor was delighted with the reaction of the police.
“All I know is that the police couldn’t have been greater. I signed a lot of autographs. I don’t know whether it was because of ‘CSI,’ but they gave me a lift to my place in Manhattan” said the actor.
Gerald McCullouch had previously been a victim of a mugging at gunpoint in 2001.
