The latest Batman sequel, the Dark Knight, earned a billion dollars at the box office and entered the company of best-earning films.
The Dark Knight has finally made a billion dollars at the box office. Warner Brothers announced the good news on Friday, revealing that the film earned over a billion dollars in home and foreign market.
The film was nominated for eight prestigious Oscar awards. Heath Ledger was nominated for the category of best supporting actor, for his role of the Joker. Ledger posthumously won the award, however, the film has still not managed to knock out the Titanic from the charts of best earning films, which has been there for years.
Apart from the mentioned films, the bankable company also includes “Lord of the Rings: Return of the King” and “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Mans Chest”.
