'Ferris' clip is a Super Bowl ad for Honda

Text

NEW YORK, Jan. 27 (UPI) -- A 10-second clip of Hollywood actor Matthew Broderick channeling his iconic film character Ferris Bueller has gotten more than 1.5 million hits on YouTube.

The video shows the now 49-year-old, but still boyish-looking, actor opening a window and musing to the camera, "How can I handle work on a day like today?" -- a nod to his 1986 dodging-high school-classes comedy "Ferris Bueller's Day Off." The clip, which hit the Internet Thursday, ends with the numbers 2.5.12.

The Web site Jalopnik said the mysterious, yet wildly popular clip is not an ad for a sequel to the 1980s classic, but rather a Super Bowl commercial for Honda.

The report said Honda hired "The Hangover" writer/director Todd Phillips to make the "Ferris Bueller" spoof, spotlighting its vehicles.
