Young Croatia director Skoric has the honour of accepting the award previously won by Ang Lee, Ridley Scott, David Lynch etc.
Croatian director Irena Skoric won the silver award of the WorldFest international film festival panel, which was held on Houston, for her film "Farewell".
The theme of this director`s short film is relationship between a father and son and their old car. The father and son start a journey in a Zastava 101 car, the symbol of former Yugoslavia. Ivan Brkic and Asim Ugljen are featured.
It is not familiar that this film was screened in Brazil, Argentina, Poland and other countries. This is its eighth festival award, as it won the Grand Prix award at the Croatian Film Days and an award for best script, written by the director herself.
The WorldFest was held for the 42 nd consecutive year. This year, it started on April 17 and ended on April 26. Many esteemed directors were awarded for their debut works at this happening, including George Lucas, David Lynch, the Cohen brothers, Ridley Scott, Ang Lee and many more.
