The festival, sponsored by Virgin Media, takes place in Chelmsford and Staffordshire on Aug. 22 and 23.

U.S. band The Killers and British rockers Oasis will headline the annual V music festival this year, organisers said on Monday.

The festival, sponsored by Virgin Media, takes place in Chelmsford and Staffordshire on Aug. 22 and 23.

Joining the headliners will be bands including Razorlight, Snow Patrol, Fatboy Slim, Keane, The Specials, Elbow and festival newcomers Pendulum, The Ting Tings, MGMT and Lady Ga Ga.

"Our headliners ... are two of the biggest acts in music today and with them being joined by some really exuberant newcomers, this summer's V Festival is set to give festival fans something to shout about," said festival director Bob Angus.

Tickets go on sale from Friday, March 6, at 10 a.m. on the festival website www.vfestival.com.
