Mischa Barton has signed up to play a lesbian in her latest movie.
The former 'O.C.' star will portray Russian teenager Lana in 'Finding t.A.T.u' about two girls who fall in love at a t.A.T.u concert. The film, based on a novel, tells the story of "Two teenage girls, Janie who is American and Lana who is Russian, fall in love after meeting at a t.A.T.u concert and are swept into a dangerous world of obsession, drug abuse and murder."
t.A.T.u. were a fake lesbian Russian pop duo who caused controversy with single 'All The Things She Said' in 2003. The accompanying video saw the girls, who were wearing school uniforms,
share a kiss. It was later revealed they pretended to be in a lesbian relationship to boost publicity.
The film is due out next year. Mischa, 21, has played a lesbian before. Her 'The O.C.' character Marissa Cooper had a brief fling with wild child barmaid Alex.
