This is not the first time the `West End Girls` hitmakers have planned a show-stealing performance at the awards.
Pet Shop Boys' BRIT Awards performance is in doubt because they can't find enough male dancers.
The duo - Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe - will pick up the Outstanding Contribution to Music prize at next Wednesday's ceremony (18.02.09), but their plans for an elaborate set to end the evening have been thrown into chaos by their demand for 50 oriental men.
A source said: "They've told bosses they won't settle for anything less, which has been causing massive panic backstage as the performance is only six days away."
This is not the first time the 'West End Girls' hitmakers have planned a show-stealing performance at the awards.
In 1994, they took to the stage with a 200-strong Welsh male voice choir who were lowered on stage by two huge cranes.
It has been rumoured the group are planning to perform with The Killers after they pick up their award, and although Neil admits they will be joined by special guests, he denied it will be the 'Mr. Brightside' rockers. He said: "That rumour - made up. There will be two guests for our performance, but I'd like it to be a surprise."
The BRIT Awards take place at London's Earls Court and will be presented by British comic duo Mathew Horne and James Corden and singer Kylie Minogue.
