Comninos` vehicle was pushed through a roadside wall and was left teetering precariously on the edge of a cliff.
A ‘Quantum of Solace’ stuntman has been left with serious head injuries in the third car crash on the set in a week. Driver Aris Comninos, 40, was filming on a windy lakeside road near Italy’s Lake Garda when another stunt car, being steered via remote control, hit a rock and slammed into him.
Comninos’ vehicle was pushed through a roadside wall and was left teetering precariously on the edge of a cliff.
A spokesman has confirmed Comninos underwent surgery in a hospital in the nearby town of Verona and at the time of writing was still in a critical condition.
Earlier this week, British engineer Fraser Dunn plunged off the side of a cliff into Lake Garda while delivering an Aston Martin to the set of the film.
After winching the car out of the lake, producers are looking for a replacement for the Aston Martin, which was written off after the accident.
Just hours after the lake incident, another stuntman was hurt during the shooting of a separate car chase.
‘Quantum of Solace’, starring Daniel Craig, Dame Judi Dench and Gemma Arterton, will be released worldwide this November.
