Afro Jesus and an Afro-baby as fashion accessories are so far the most interesting elements of Cohen`s film about gay reporter Bruno.
If it was the time of the inquisition… There would not be our favourite gay fashion reporter Bruno, or jokes about famous and anonymous people who think they are safe in their anonymity. Tough luck for them – Sacha Baron Cohen is here, are he is no joke – not!
“Bruno: Delicious Journeys Through America for the Purpose of Making Heterosexual Males Visibly Uncomfortable in the Presence of a Gay Foreigner in a Mesh T-Shirt” is the latest film by British comedian Sacha Baron Cohen.
Bruno insults believers or believers are insulted by Bruno
Ali-G was so silly that everyone had to laugh at him, Borat was so silly and provocative that the locals of the Romanian Glod village are still threatening his life if he ever approached their home, and who knows what Bruno will be like, the feature film with the famous frisky Austrian who, above all, lives crashing into fashion shows of famous designers and steal away the limelight… we can only guess.
Although “Bruno” is still in post-production (if everything goes according to plan, the premiere is scheduled for May), some interesting details from the film are already available – especially after it was test screened recently and stirred things up with the more religious viewers.
A viewer told The Sun that Sacha decided for the shock-tactic this time. The characters were deliberately chosen to disturb certain structures of the society, while one of the characters is Jesus.
Madonna? Ich don't think so!
The most disputable detail so far is the appearance of a dark-skinned model, wit the name Son of God, wrapped in just a piece of cloth in the hip area and with a crown of thorn on his head.
Even though the audience did not complain about the following example, someone more powerful than the audience might complain about him – pop queen Madonna herself, whose case of adopting David from Malawi was shamelessly made fun of in the film. Bruno and his boyfriend Diesel adopt an African boy with the same name whom they drag to fashion shows.
