NEW YORK, March 4, 2010 (AFP) - Republican star Sarah Palin will write a new book reflecting her patriotic and "spiritual" values, publishers HarperCollins announced Thursday.

The conservative former governor of Alaska and vice presidential candidate will pen "a celebration of American virtues and strengths," HarperCollins said in a statement.

Palin, believed to be eyeing a bid for the Republican presidential nomination in 2012, is already a bestselling author with her colorful autobiography "Going Rogue: An American Life."

In her new book, currently untitled, the charismatic champion of the American right wing "will reflect on the key values -- both national and spiritual -- that have been such a profound part of her life and which continue to inform her vision of the future."

HarperCollins did not say how much Palin would be paid for the work.

"Going Rogue," which describes Palin's life in small town Alaska, her governorship and tumultuous entry into national politics during John McCain's failed presidential bid last year, was a huge success.

The book spent six weeks as a bestseller and sold more than 2.2 million copies.

Palin reportedly relied heavily on ghost writer Lynn Vincent, a fellow conservative, for the book. She acknowledged Vincent as having given "indispensable help in getting the words on paper," but insisted she was the sole author.

In the new work, much of the content will apparently not be Palin's.

She plans to "include selections from classic and contemporary readings that have inspired her," the publishers said. There will also be "portraits of some of the extraordinary men and women she admires and who embody her love of country, faith, and family."

Palin, who is both widely mocked and adored for her folksy populism, will then "draw from her personal experience to amplify these timely (and timeless) themes."
