Many Croatian celebrities attended Sir Elton John`s concert held in Pula.
Long-awaited concert began and ended with Elton`s biggest hits, including “Take Me To The Pilot”, “Sacrifice” and “Candle In The Wind”. The opening of the Histria Festival began with the British star who is still conquering with his pop rock hits.
Elton John arrived in Pula on Tuesday in the early afternoon, landing on a private jet.
Mostly older married couples attended the concert, craving for older hits, including actor Rade Serbedzija, musician Tony Cetinski, Iva Balaban and other celebrities. Slavica Ecclestone had a VIP section seat, but failed to show up for the big night. The Glas Istre daily reports that Slavica and Elton john were supposed to have taken a yacht to the Brijuni islands today.
Elton is endearing and does not have demands
Elton John arrived in Pula on Tuesday in the early afternoon, landing on a private jet.
The Istrian festival organiser Baskhim Shehu recently said he went through a lot of trouble in order to invite John to Pula, and he did not hide the fact he was afraid the star might have special demands. However, he admitted later on that the singer was endearing and simple.
The composer and pianist has published 35 albums in 50 years and sold over 200 million records. His 50 songs were featured in all charts, while seven of his albums reached the number one spot in the USA.
Michael Bolton and Dino Merlin next
Apart from Elton John, this year`s Histria Festival will feature Michael Bolton, who will hold a concert on July 12 and Dino Merlin, who will hold a show on August 21.
Among other acts, two ballet performances have been announced in Pula`s Arena: the Imperial Russian Ballet group will perform Swan Lake on August 5, Carmen and Bolero on August 13.
