The duo - Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe - are being honoured with an Outstanding Achievement accolade at this year's ceremony and are planning to invite the 'Human' rockers on stage to perform with them as they close the prestigious event.
A source said: "Pet Shop Boys plan to give a memorable show. "They collaborated with David Bowie at the BRITs when he won the same award back in 1996 and they'd like to do something similar this year.
"It would be great to get friends of the band on stage. The Killers singer Brandon Flowers and Neil have become good friends so anything is possible." This year's BRIT Awards will take place at London's Earls Court on February 20.
The ceremony will be presented by 'Gavin and Stacey' TV stars James Cordon and Mathew Horne and '2 Hearts' singer Kylie Minogue.
