James Bond claimed the top spot at the weekend box office overseas, even though it launched in only three markets. "Quantum of Solace," the 22nd installment of the 007 franchise, generated 38.6 million dollars. 25.3 million dollars of that was from the U.K. alone - a record opening for any film in the territory. France chipped in 10.6 million, a record for the spy series, and Sweden 2.7 million.
Daniel Craig's second outing as the super sleuth will add 57 markets next weekend before opening Nov. 14 in North America.
Oscar-winning actor Richard Dreyfuss is to return to the London stage four years after he was fired from the hit musical "The Producers." The 61-year-old will star in "Complicit," a play directed by fellow Hollywood star Kevin Spacey. Dreyfuss is currently on the big screen in "W," portraying U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney.
A paparazzo's civil case against Keanu Reeves has been dropped. A photographer claimed Reeves struck him with his Porsche, causing him to fall and injure his left wrist. Jurors rejected the case, ruling that Reeves was not responsible for the alleged injuries.
