VideoDirector Ridley Scott wanted Russell to put on weight for thriller `Body of Lies`, which he did not like one bit.
Russell Crowe had to put on quite a lot of weight for a part in the upcoming film `Body of Lies`, and seeing how he hates his corpulent figure, he said he would no longer accept roles that require him putting on weight, Webindia reports.
Director Ridley Scott wanted Russell to put on 50 pounds (22.7 kilos) for the role of a CIA head. However, Crowe was disgusted with his new look and decided not to play fatties in the future.
Russell`s character is actually a former athlete who let himself go, which is the same self-image the unfortunate actor has now. Crowe said that his belly hangs between his legs and he does not even know why he had accepted the “challenge” at all.
Leonardo di Caprio surely did not help the actor`s self-consciousness, who could not stop laughing as he saw him for the first time on set. Leonardo is also featured in `Body of Lies`.
You can see Russell`s new part in the attached trailer.
