Another brutal murder happened under the influence of Slipknot’s album Disasterpiece and their song by the same name.
When something beautiful as a song can cause death, then we can really ask ourselves where this world is coming to. Another brutal murder took place under the influence of Slipknot’s album ‘Disasterpiece’ and a song by the same name that ‘influences murder in the same way as done by Harris and Riley’. The first such murder happened in America.
They listened to Slipknot’s album before killing
20-year-old Jason Lamar Harris and his 16-year-old friend Amber Rose Riley talked about killing Terry Ray Taylor for months.
They went through with the plan on April 24, 2003. The prosecution said one of the extenuating circumstances was that before the murder, the two listened to Slipknot’s album “Disasterpiece”. Taylor was stabbed more than 20 times and his throat was slit.
The killer, Jason Lamar Harris will spend at least 50 years in prison.
This week another bizarre murder happened, this time in the Republic of South Africa. A young man was killed in school by a samurai sword and his murder is tied to Slipknot’s album. 16-year-old Jacques Pretorius died after a school mate slit his throat with the sword. Three other people were injured. Although it is a fact that many consider the band’s music satanic, a South African daily recently asked Spliknot’s fans for their opinion.
Full of nihilism and dark side of life
The fans of metal music are often labelled as stupid, angry, Satan worshippers, drug users, immoral kids without any hope or future. The media often fuel this perception with their sensationalist articles about a band every time some idiot kills his friends, a fan of the band wrote.
Slipknot is an American metal band comprising of nine members. It was founded in 1995.
The boys play a mixture of alternative metal and neo-shock music that sounds similar to the music of Marilyn Manson, as well as rap-metal music that helped them become very popular in the late 1990’s. Their popularity was helped by their unusual and theatrical look that drew attention. They always performed in factories and wearing hand-made Halloween masks. When one adds to that lyrics full of nihilism and the dark side of life, success is guaranteed.
