VideoThe film will soon be finalised and the premier is scheduled for May, during the Cannes Film Festival.
Quentin Tarantino, director and actor who keeps delighting the audience with his a tad bit disturbed scripts and films, will soon finish his latest piece called “Inglourious Basterds”, with Brad Pitt in the starring role. Tarantino wrote the script and directed the film, just like so many times before, inspired by Nazi Germany and the spaghetti western genre.
Film has five chaptersWhere did he get his inspiration from?
Tarantino drew inspiration for his new film in Enzo Castellari`s 1978 film “Inglorious Basterds”.
Tarantino has gathered a large crew, including, apart from the mentioned Pitt, Samuel L. Jackson as the narrator, Diane Kruger, Mike Myers, Eli Roth and many more. The shooting is over and the whole film crew hopes the post-production process goes according to plan and that the film ill premiere at the Cannes Film Festival in May.
The film follows two stories. One tells of a group of inmates who become soldiers in order to conquer a group of Nazis, while the other follows a young Jewish woman who wants to retaliate to the same group of Nazis for her parents` deaths. Just like his excellent film “Kill Bill”, this one has several chapters al well: Once Upon a Time in Nazi Occupied France, Inglourious Basterds, German Night in Paris (filmed in black and white, role-modelled after the French new wave), Operation Kino and Revenge of the Giant Face.
Shooting set for 2004, but started in 200
“Inglourious Basterds” was initially planned for 2004 and Tarantino say Michael Madsen in the starring role. However, due to the scope of the film and the fact that other directors tackled the World War II theme at the time, Quentin Tarantino postponed filming until further notice. During the break, he made “Kill Bill 2” and reduced the script to 222 pages. However, he again turned to another project, thus “Grindhouse” was made in 2007. Finally, the filming began in 2008 and its premier is expected soon.
