VideoThe life of an average American in the 1950s is portrayed in director Sam Mendes’s new film `Revolutionary Road´.
After the huge film hit “Titanic”, the actress Kate Winslet and actor Leonardo Di Caprio have filmed another new film together.
“Revolutionary Road” is a drama in which a young couple with two children are seemingly happy and content with their life in the mid 1950s, in the American state of Connecticut.
Unfulfilled dreams from the suburbs
April Wheeler, who is acted by Kate Winslet, and Frank Wheeler, who is acted by Leonardo Di Caprio, battle with their everyday life and dream of a better world and unfulfilled dreams. She is a housewife that dreams of being an actress, whilst he is buried in a well paid but boring office job. In the hope of a new beginning and better future, they move from the capitalist America to France.
The film is directed by Sam Mendes, who is best known for his film “American Beauty” that was awarded with five Oscars. The script was written based on the novel with the same title by Richard Yates. The world premiere of the film “Revolutionary Road” is planned for next year.
