`X-Men Origins: Wolverine` ranked No. 1 the first major debut of Hollywood`s summer movie season, banking 87 million dollars.
Film studio estimates Sunday showed romantic comedy "Ghosts of Girlfriends Past" landing in the No. 2 spot with $15.3 million, while last week's champ, thriller "Obsessed," dropped to 3rd place with a weekend haul of $12.2 million.
"X-Men Origins: Wolverine," was distributed by Twentieth Century Fox, a unit of News Corp.
"Ghosts of Girlfriends Past" was released by New Line Cinema, a unit of the Warner Bros. movie-studio wing of Time Warner Inc.
"Obsessed" was distributed by Screen Gems, a division of Sony Corp.'s Sony Pictures Entertainment.
