Death of the Mink DeVille head came unexpectedly, because he was recently diagnosed with cancer, by chance.
Willy DeVille, founder and head of the Mink DeVille group, born William Borsey of Connecticut, dies of pancreatic cancer at the age of 59.
His death came suddenly, because he was diagnosed with cancer just recently. Earlier this year, Willy notified his fans that he was going to take a small break from performing and recording, because he was about to undergo Hepatitis C treatment, but he was diagnosed with cancer in May.
His 1977 song “Spanish Stroll” was a bigger hit in Europe than the USA and most people remember him for one song, “Storybook Love” from the film “Princess Bride”.
