Young Mozart Antonio Macan Delights Ireland

Text

The Irish media presented the Croatian pianist as a charming virtuoso and author of famous compositions.

After setting China afire with his musical abilities, Croatian Mozart Antonio Macan, young and successful Sinj-born pianist and composer, is winning over Ireland as well. Famous Irish National Concert Hall wants to organise his concert in Dublin as soon as possible, especially since he became a favourite of certain Irish media, which praised him and presented him as a young and charming piano virtuoso and author of famous compositions like “Avalon” and “Tavern”, which are hits in -.--.-Germany.

- I am happy to be the guest of the Dublin National Concert Hall and that they want to see me in Ireland with so much desire. I am especially honoured with the interest displayed in me by their media. They were really interested in my compositions, which are partially in the style of Irish music, especially “Avalon” and “Tavern”. I received the invitation to hold concerts in Ireland in 2007, but I could not accept it at the time, because I was touring in Croatia. Interestingly, they were amazed that such a young pianist and composer had so many compositions with Irish melodies – said Macan, looking back on the attention he got in Ireland.

- I was nicely welcomed during my visit, I stayed at the National Concert Hall and met with the leading people there. I believe a concert will have been realised by the end of this year – young Antonio Macan said, adding he was impressed with Dublin and its youth.

The Irish are open and cordial

- I was impressed by the vast Catholic churches which ornament Dublin in nearly every street. I was touched by the similar fate of us Croats and the Irish. The mentality of Ireland`s youth appeals to me very much, especially their openness and cordiality, as well as their feeling for a good atmosphere. I believe my upcoming concerts in Dublin would be really infernal – the young Croatian Mozart said.
