When asked how she was coping with the split, Jennifer said: `One day at a time, and lots of chocolate! Alanis is helping too.`
Jennifer Love Hewitt says Alanis Morissette is helping mend her broken heart.
The 'Ghost Whisperer' star - who split from Scottish actor Ross McCall last month - listens to the Canadian singer's album 'Jagged Little Pill' to get her through the break-up, while eating chocolate.
When asked how she was coping with the split, Jennifer said: "One day at a time, and lots of chocolate! Alanis is helping too.
"Everybody has to get through it in their own way. I choose to believe that some people are just not right for you, and there's somebody else who will be."
But while Jennifer says she bears no grudges, she isn't interested in keeping in touch with her former flame.
She said: "Sometimes it's OK not to be friends,"
The actress - who turned 30 on Saturday (21.02.09) - celebrated the landmark date with breakfast at Tiffany's.
The actress - who played Audrey Hepburn in TV movie 'The Audrey Hepburn Story' - dressed up as Hepburn's iconic character Holly Golightly from the 1961 film 'Breakfast at Tiffany's' and dined at the Beverly Hills restaurant.
She said: "My mom worked that out for me. It was amazing. I had a great day."
Later that day her family and friends joined the celebrations at The Montage Hotel in Beverly Hills.
