The Chamber Choir won the competition and the main prize, Gran Premio, and a gold diploma at the international competition of choirs.
The Chamber Choir “Ivan Filipovic” won the grand prize, Gran Premio, as the total winner of the competition, and were awarded the gold diploma in the category of Chamber Choirs in the international competition of choirs “Musica Sacra a Roma” Maestri della Schola Romana in Rome, said the president of the choir, Igor Grguric.
At this year’s competition of choirs which perform sacral music, held between July 10 and 15 in Rome, organized by the INTERKULTUR Foundation Musica Mundi, around 20 European choirs performed. They were from Russia, Hungary, Germany, Greece, Italy, Latvia, the Ukraine, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Croatia.
After the first round, competition by categories, the best eight choirs competed for the Gran Premio of the whole competition, and the prize, judged by the expert panel of judges, was awarded to the Chamber Choir “Ivan Filipovic” with the conductor Goran Jerkovic.
Jerkovic founded a choir in 1998, and today he is its artistic director.
