Nives told the British Daily Mail that she and her husband are famous in Croatia, so she is used to the many photographers.
The story of a British couple who tried to snatch Nives Celsius’s son, thinking he was the missing toddler Madeleine McCann, has just calmed in Croatian media. But in Great Britain the story is just flaring up.
Nives is on summer holiday on the Croatian island of Krk with her sister. Recently a British couple, who had previously photographed her son Leone, thinking he was Maddie, approached them. The elderly woman even wanted to call the police, but Nives explained that Leone was a boy, not a girl.
The British media have dubbed Dino and Nives Drpic the Croatian version of Victoria and David Beckham. They wrote about Dino that he was a defence player in a famous Croatian football club and about Nives that she was a glamour model.
- I started getting suspicious when the British woman approached Leone and started chatting with him. Suddenly she grabbed him by the arm, apparently thinking nobody was watching him. However, when I went over she realised her mistake and apologised. – Nives told the Daily Mail
She stressed that she was used to people taking photos of her and approaching her because she and her husband are famous in Croatia.
