Disney have unveiled plans for ‘High School Musical 4’ – with an entirely new cast.
The popular franchise is set to return in 2010 as a TV movie – unlike last year’s ‘High School Musical 3: Senior Year’ which saw the first cinema release for the popular series – but will not feature popular stars Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale or Corbin Bleu.
Gary Marsh, president of Disney Channels Worldwide, said in a statement: "The ‘High School Musical’ trilogy introduced a new generation to the celebrated genre of movie musicals. In crafting this next iteration, we've challenged the entire creative team to raise the bar again - and create something truly worthy of this extraordinary global phenomenon.”
Details of the new cast members have not yet been announced, but the plot will follow a love triangle between rivals East High School – the focus of the original trilogy – and West High School.
