Elton John’s Photo Acceptable After All

The prosecutor’s report said that the suspicion was overthrown due to lack of evidence, other than the possession of the photograph.

The photograph by Nan Goldin, which the police confiscated from Elton John’s private collection because of suspicion that  paedophile material was in question, is acceptable after all, and the charges have been dropped. This is how the royal prosecution of England and Wales decided.

The photographs by the controversial American artist Nan Goldin, which show two naked girls, of which one is spreading her legs, found its way into the collection of 4,000 similar photographs of the famous singer.

Because of suspicion that paedophilia was in question, the police confiscated the photo before it was to be exhibited at the Baltic gallery in Gateshead. The prosecution’s report says that suspicion was overthrown because of lack of evidence that would prove the possession and distribution of such unacceptable material, reports BBC.

The photo has been on display in Houston, London, Madrid, New York, Portugal, Warsaw and Zurich without any public complaints, an was even offered on auction at Southeby’s in 2002 and 2004.
