Mick Hucknall was terrified when his plane to Brazil was forced to make an emergency landing.
The Simply Red star was jetting from Argentina to a live TV performance in Rio de Janeiro when pressure dropped in the aircraft and oxygen masks failed to work, forcing the pilot to make a quick descent from 35,000 ft.
The 48-year-old singer missed the television broadcast as the jet didn't have enough fuel to continue on to Rio from Sao Paolo, where it had been forced to land.
However, Mick - who was advised to rest his throat and ears following the incident - is "in good spirits" and will be ready for shows in the two cities later this week.
He added: "The Brazilian audience has always been a great support to us and we love performing here. I am very proud to come back to Brazil to share 25 amazing years through our songs."
