On the eve of Hollywood actress Elizabeth Hurley and Arun Nayar's wedding, an incident broke out between the press and the security team.
A fight broke out outside Mehrangarh Palaca in Jodhpur when the reporters and photographers mobbed the famous couple as they were going to a formal dinner. The couple found refuge by locking themselves in the car.
Indian media were provoked by the news that the UK Hello magazine had bought the rights to the wedding pictures.
When the reporters surged toward the vehicle a security guard slapped a female reporter as another reporter assaulted another security guard at the same time. The reporters broke through the first security team at the palace entrance and they were joined by curious locals. The problem was solved by closing the palace gates.
A few hours later, the crowd asked the security service for an apology, but one was not forthcoming after all.
In the evening hours, the famous couple tied the knot in Umaid Bhawan palace, which symbolizes the joining of two people who are in love in Hindu tradition. After the party in their honour, the couple flew to Jodhpur to finish the preparations for the wedding, that takes place on Friday.
