TMZ.com, the entertainment news Web site that boldly documents the peccadilloes of the rich and famous, is making its way to television.
All Fox-owned television stations have agreed to launch "TMZ" this fall, the show's distributor, Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution, said Monday.
The younger-skewing show aims to appeal more to male viewers than other syndicated entertainment newsmagazines do, said Ken Werner, president of WBDTD. It will feature fast-paced video segments, investigative news reports, exclusive citizen video and other elements. A host has yet to be determined.
"This is the next generation in entertainment newsmagazines," Werner said. "It's a different kind of show with a different kind of focus and different kind of storytelling."
Since its launch in December 2005, TMZ.com has taken credit for breaking such stories as Mel Gibson's arrest and anti-Semitic remarks, and the breakup of Britney Spears and Kevin Federline.
