Hundreds of items owned by Michael Jackson – mainly costumes, gold records and manuscripts, will be sold in Las Vegas on Wednesday and Thursday at one of the most important auctions dedicated to “the king of pop.”
The auction was organized at a hotel-casino in Las Vegas and simultaneously on the Internet. A total of 1,100 items will be offered on sale and they should bring in several million dollars, estimates auction house Guernsey.
There aren’t many authentic Michael and Janet Jackson items that were sold at auctions. We will probably not see an auction like this again, said Guernsey president Arlan Ettinger.
Some of the items that will be auctioned include the gold record that Jackson received for Thriller and his personal I.D. when he was five years old and when he signed the contract with Motown Records.
