Indian former actress Monica Bedi was acquitted on Monday of charges of passport forgery in a high-profile case involving Mumbai's underworld.
Bedi walked free after a court in the central Indian city of Bhopal acquitted her because the police did not produce adequate witnesses against her.
Bedi was extradited from Portugal along with Mumbai underworld figure Abu Salem in 2005.
Salem is accused of involvement in the Mumbai bomb blasts in 1993 where 257 people were killed and is currently facing trial over the attacks. Police said the pair fled the country soon after the blasts.
Bedi was sentenced to five years in jail for a similar offence by a court in the southern city of Hyderabad last year, but is currently on bail pending an appeal.
