When asked if she was fluent in Hebrew, Isla laughed and said: `That would be pushing it! I know a bit, I know a bit.`
The 'Confessions of a Shopaholic' actress, who has converted to Judaism for her Jewish fiance Sacha Baron Cohen, hasn't quite got to grips with the new language.
When asked if she was fluent in Hebrew, Isla laughed and said: "That would be pushing it! I know a bit, I know a bit."
Isla, who was raised as a Methodist Christian, has been given the Hebrew name Ayala or 'Doe'.
She said recently: "I converted two years ago. It is always reported that I am still studying, so I am either the slowest studier in the world, or I have, in fact, converted.
"I think if one wanted to be buried next to one's beloved and they were Jewish, then one would have to be Jewish, too."
The 33-year-old Australian beauty agreed to follow Judaism so she can marry Sacha in a traditional ceremony and she insists is pleased with her decision.
Isla - who has a 15-month-old daughter, Olive, with Sacha - said: "I love religions and find them fascinating and I find Judaism very beautiful. It has enriched my life enormously."
