Jenny McCarthy has dubbed boyfriend Jim Carrey "the autism whisperer".
The 'Scary Movie 3' star - whose five-year-old son Evan was diagnosed with autism two years ago - is delighted with how much the actor has helped her son. Jenny, 34, told People magazine: "Beyond doubt it was written in the stars that Jim and Evan were a pair.
"He's actually helped Evan get past some obstacles I couldn't. I sometimes call him the autism whisperer. He speaks a language Evan understands, and Evan feels safe with him." Jenny admits she was reluctant to introduce Jim, 45, to her son at first. She said: "He was intrigued. He asked questions. Still, it took me a few months to bring Evan over."
The blonde actress, who was previously married to film director John Asher before they divorced in 2005, went on to reveal that she and twice-divorced Jim have no plans to marry, despite being so happy together.
She said: "There will be no certificate. It goes far deeper than that. Jim came into our life with an open heart and open arms. He's learned a lot about autism. He listens. The power of listening. It can move mountains." Jim has a 20-year-old daughter Jane with ex-wife actress-and-waitress
Melissa Womer. He wed his 'Dumb and Dumber' co-star Lauren Holly in 1996, but the marriage lasted less than a year.
