John Cleese has split from his wife after 19 years of marriage.
The 'Monty Python' star and Alyce Faye Eichelberger jointly decided to end their relationship and insist nobody else was involved. A source said: "They just felt the relationship is not going to continue and I think they are very sad but fairly resolved about it."
The split comes after the comedian is understood to have become "melancholy" in recent months following the deaths of several close friends. The couple - who are currently staying at their Californian home - both have children from previous marriages but none together.
