Men who drink about half a glass of wine daily over the course of ten years can live up to four years longer than those who do not consume alcohol, 40-year long German studies show. But, this is surely not the reason for an exceeded alcohol consumption.
Seeing how drinking alcohol causes addiction, its consumption not advised for medical reasons.
Men who already possess this habit, should drink in as little quantities as possible, vine if possible, and not more than two glasses per day.
Research results were presented in Orland, at the 47th annual conference on the blood system diseases and their prevention.
Since 1960 until 2000, 1,373 men from Dutch were monitored, at the age between 40 and 60. They were monitored until death. Those who consumed any kind of alcohol in moderate quantities lived a little bit longer, while those who consumed vine the most during their lives lived longer than everyone else.
In comparison to alcoholics, men who drink up to two glasses of any kind of alcohol daily have decreased heart-attack risk and other cardiac diseases by 28 percent, and those who drink wine, by 46 percent even, the CBS reports.
