NOVEMBER 18 2009 12:17h

Michelle Obama insists on healthy food

Text

The first lady admitted that her family feels healthier and more energized since they started eating healthy food.

Obama family lives by the rules set out by the First Lady, Michelle. One of the most important rules is certainly a healthy diet that Michelle insists upon.

Because of daily appointments and busy schedules healthy food is necessary, therefore, she makes sure that White House cooks use lots of organic ingredients.

- A day full of stress, fueled by unhealthy and quickly prepared meals, is not useful for my husband or my children. My goal is to teach Mali and Sasha the values of healthy life - said Michelle.

The First Lady stressed that such food is not cheap, therefore, she understands why people resort to fast food, and are inclined to describe organic food as bland and tasteless.

- Were it more accessible, many would try the healthy food and realize that it is truly delicious - said Michelle.

The first lady admitted that healthy foods give her family more energy and keep them healthy, while also helping her husband Barack cope with everyday stress more easily.

Dressed well, even without heels

Michelle’s work day begins at 4:30 when she exercises and then has a breakfast with her daughters.

- Given that their father is the President my children do not enjoy the comforts of family life and I try to spend as much of time with them as possible - the first lady of America explains.

In addition to taking care of the White House, Michelle is a constant source of inspiration for many fashion designers, fashion critics and their followers.

She was rated as the best dressed woman in the world a couple of times already and Glamour magazine placed her at the top of the list of women who have marked the year.

Michelle avoids high heels, she almost never wears them, and she emphasizes her great figure with good posture.

Her arms particularly stand out and she often wears T-shirts, suits and dresses that emphasize her feminine biceps.

First lady loves jewelry and belts, and she completes her simple clothing with fashion accessories of vibrant colors. Although her life in the White House has many advantages, Michelle still visits the same hairdresser she has used for many years in which a haircut costs twenty dollars.
