Monica Bellucci stars in a movie about sex slaves

Besides Monica Bellucci, the cast of the German-Canadian production includes Vanessa Redgrave, Rachel Weisz and David Strathairn.

Italian actress Monica Bellucci began attending the set of the political drama “The Whistleblower” directed by Laryse Kondracki.

The film is based on true events and it is filmed in Bucharest. Besides Monica Bellucci, the cast includes Vanessa Redgrave, Rachel Weisz and David Strathairn.

Rachel Weisz plays a police officer, Kathryn Bolkovac, who works for the UN international police force. She accidentally discovers the sex slave trade in Bosnia which involves the UN and the U.S.

The film is shot in the German-Canadian production.
