Pete Doherty Wants to Be With Amy Winehouse

Pete is so besotted with Amy he has urged her husband to leave her.

The Babyshambles frontman has written a letter to Blake Fielder-Civil – who is currently on remand in London’s Pentonville Prison – urging him to step aside because he would be a better lover for the ‘Rehab’ singer.

A source said: “Pete has written to Blake and told him bluntly to do the decent thing. If he loves Amy, let her go.”

Pete – who, like Amy, is battling drug addictions – also told Blake he had proposed to Amy four years ago when they met on a British TV show. Pete took Amy under his wing and said he wanted to marry her and believes they would be a happy couple now if Blake hadn’t got involved.

A source added to Britain’s Daily Star newspaper: “Pete explained in his letter to Blake that he genuinely believes if he and Amy had got together then, they would’ve weathered the storms of fame together and not have succumbed to addiction or depression.

“He thinks they’re two halves of the same coin, stronger together than apart. And he blames Blake for hurting Amy and getting her in this mess.”
