One of the oldest French fashion houses is still presenting women’s high fashion.
Hiding behind the name Nina Ricci is nearly a whole century of successful business of the fashion house. It came into being back in 1932 in Paris when Nina and her son Robert created women’s high fashion from the finest materials. Nina preferred the chic look for an elegant and wealthy woman, always classic and feminine.
Soon after that, Robert created the first perfume in soft flower notes which was a successful start and motivation for further production.
Even after the death of its founder, this name stayed in the safe hands of the upcoming young designers who present Nina’s attributes they way that Nina would do herself.
Nina’s foundation in the present
Currently the young Belgian Oliver Theyskens who after independent work, and working for Rochas, became the art director of Ricci’s fashion house. Since they have always been a synonym for emphasized femininity, Oliver still holds that principle. As Nina dressed glamorous actresses and famous people in the forties and fifties, Oliver is continuing today. One of the most famous and most faithful is Madonna herself who is impressed with his work.
Presenting the collection for the following autumn in Paris, we could notice that various drape combinations were still at play, and the excess material strictly stresses the female silhouette. Using silk, the clothing gains a shine and mobility on the body. He is inspired by feather, wing, and bird, and with the flight they are left clear in the white, black, and surprisingly soft yellow. This collection is like the most emphasized hint of champagne.
Oliver’s motto is the presentation of cool, attractive and universal young women. With his ideas he made creations that are absolutely wearable for every woman in Manhattan, Paris all the way to Tokyo.
