The Costume Designers Guild Awards took place for the 11 th time in Beverly Hills. It represents designers, assistant designers and illustrators who work according to the highest standards of the profession. They promote and protect the economic status of the designer industry and raise standards.

Celebrities at the awards ceremony included Jennie Garth, Kristin Davis, Lori Loughlin, Michael Douglas, Cris Noth, Perrey Reeves and many more.

For some, the designers are those who turn scrip words into visual imagination necessary for a film character. They help create roles in a fictional universe. In other words, designers always tell a story.

Some 30 film designers founded the Designers` Guild in 1953. This year`s winners include: 'Ugly Betty' – Eduardo Castro & Patricia Field; 'Mad Men' – Katherine Jane Bryant: 'John Adams' – Donna Zakowska: 'Slumdog Millionaire' – Suttirat Larlarb: 'The Duchess' – Michael O'Connor: 'The Dark Knight' – Lindy Hemming and Milk; 'White Gold' – Casey Storm.
