The view of the garbage bothered two plant lovers so they decided to do something about that.
Two plant lovers have created a private botanical garden inside a block of buildings in Draskoviceva street, the very centre of Zagreb. Where there once was a garbage dump, they planted a hundred sorts of plants.
Ksenija Blank came upon the idea when she opened the window of her dentist’s office and saw a pile of garbage in the yard. In collusion with another tenant, Renata Lukin, they began reconstructing the yard and planting pansies, Jutarnji list writes.
The two ‘botanists’ now enjoy their private green oasis in the centre of the city in which they invested a whopping 40,000 kuna.
