Robbie`s sister Sally revealed the family were planning to visit Jan as much as possible over Christmas.
The former Take That star was reportedly so upset Jan, 67, had to spend the festive holiday in Manchester's Alexandra Hospital following emergency heart surgery he did everything he could to make her feel at home.
A source said: "Robbie hates that his mother was in hospital for Christmas. It has always been a real family affair for the Williams clan so it was horrible to have one spare place at the table.
"Robbie decided to take in Christmas decorations and a couple of ice sculptures to distract Jan and show her that he cares."
Following the emergency heart bypass earlier this month, Robbie's sister Sally, 42, revealed the family were planning to visit Jan as much as possible over Christmas.
She said: "We will be taking Christmas to her in the hospital. Robbie has been speaking to mum every day, and called her this morning. He will see her as soon as he can. We will all have Christmas dinner together when mum gets out of hospital.
"It was all very much a shock." Jan was forced to have the operation after doctors discovered a potentially fatal disease artery in her heart.
