Solo EP Diskonekted by Sasa Markovski, who plays keyboards for Urban&4, saw the light of day yesterday.
Markovski has played keyboards for Urban&4 for nine years in a row and his solo project is based on electronic music and the 1980`s New Romanticism.
As his musical roots, he will cite the bands Yazoo, Ultravox, Eurythmics, Human League, Depeche Mode, Propaganda, Simple Minds, Tears for Fears, and Kraftwerk, while Diskonekted was made under the strong influence of techno, progressive house, and big beat pioneers Chemical Brothers, Underworld, and Propellerheads.
In fact, Diskonekted was born of the desire to blend modern and retro electronica.
The single Home was pieced together out of two elements: the cold, powerful, monolithic, flawless electronica and a warm melody pervaded by the humane feel, found in the theme of the traditional Macedonian song Mome Stoje, which permeates the single.
Alongside Home, released in a radio edit and original mix versions, Diskonekted also contains "Mjesto za mene", the single that introduced Urban's latest album, Retro, also in a radio edit as well as the dance mix and HC mix versions.
At any rate, if the rules of common sense are anything to go by, the EP Diskonekted by Sasa Markovski should be well liked by all those who enjoy being the coolest hipsters on the dance floor.
