After Mia Farrow and Diane Keaton, Woody Allen has finally found a new muse he can always turn to.
This summer, Woody Allen is starting production on a project that still has no official title, but it does have the leading actress: Scarlett Johansson. Along with Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem, she will try to leave the industrious Allen breathless during the six weeks in Asturia and Barcelona. Considering that this will be her third appearance in the famous New York director's project, she will no doubt be successful this time, too. Johansson first worked with Allen on the movie Match Point, then on Scoop, and now there is the new "Spain project."
However, there is more news from the Woody Allen front. Other than enjoying watching Scarlett Johansson in front of the camera, he likes to make movies in the U.S.A. less and less. He made his last three movies in Great Britain and, as we have already mentioned, the next one will be made in Spain. There are no indications at all that he might flee back to his homeland. On the contrary, there are already rumours about a new project related to Europe's most famous island.
The reasons are quite prosaic, as usual. Variety says that things started growing more complicated for Allen in the U.S. when he lost the privilege to make movies without having the producers read the script first. For instance, the same source states that production company Mediapro only had one condition for filming in Spain: that the movie be filmed in Spain.
Dream countries still exist. At least for some people.
