Top directors Woody Allen, David Lynch, Martin Scorse, Michael Mann, Wim Wenders and Pedro Almodovar sing petition for Polanski.
Top US directors, Woody Allen, David Lynch and Martin Scorses on Tuesday signed a petition protesting the detention of director Roman Polanski in Switzerland, a French film industry association, SACD, said.
The SACD, which represents performance and visual artists, has been coordinating a petition in favour of Polanski that so far has been signed by more than 70 industry figures.
Also among them are Michael Mann, Wim Wenders and Pedro Almodovar.
'We demand the immediate release of Roman Polanski,' the petition says.
