Universal Music Group's Decca Records has signed veteran pop diva Dame Shirley Bassey to a worldwide recording deal.
Bassey, 70, is famed for her renditions of "Goldfinger," "Diamonds Are Forever," and "Moonraker," respectively the theme songs for the 1964, 1971 and 1979 James Bond movies.
After the rousing reception she received at this year's Glastonbury Festival in England, where she showcased her new album, "Get the Party Started," Bassey enjoyed a boost in sales for other recordings. Sales of "This is My Life -- Greatest Hits" jumped 79 percent immediately after the event.
The Decca agreement covers "Get the Party Started," excluding the United Kingdom.
That set was released June 25 in the U.K. through independent Lock Stock and Barrel Records. Decca also will give worldwide release to Bassey's next album, which is understood to feature theme songs from the James Bond movies.
Over the course of her career, Bassey has worked with EMI, Sony Music, Polygram, and United Artists, among other labels.
