Surgery to Stop Smoking

Text

With brain surgery astonishing results were achieved in smoking rehab.

A group of American scientists discovered a new approach to solving nicotine addiction. We are dealing with brain surgery, i.e. procedures on the insula, part of the brain in charge of nicotine addiction.

With this, somewhat scary method, astonishing results were achieved, to such extent that after a few procedures even the most prolific smokers stopped smoking. Scientists of prestigious American Universities claim the case of a 40 cigarettes-a-day smoker, who after suffering a cerebral stroke, gained insula damage and managed to stop smoking momentarily. According to this, if the damages are infected on the insula via surgery, the person should forget about their recent vice for good.

13 people were monitored in the research, who stopped smoking without any difficulties because of damage to their insula. In brain surgery lately, procedures which bring damages to targeted brain parts are seldom performed.

Although it sounds unbelievable, these procedures lately help people who suffer of Parkinson`s disease.
