Japanese professional and amateur musicians set a new world record in concert duration: 182 hours.
Hundreds of Japanese professional and amateur musicians have set a new world record in uninterrupted concert duration: they played about two thousand melodies for 182 hours, Kyodo press agency announced on Saturday.
The concert kicked off on March 23 in the evening in the city of Omi in west Japan and musicians aged six to 96 took turns playing, Kyodo reports.
According to the agency's news, a representative of the London organization of the Guinness World Records was in attendance and acknowledged that a new record had been set.
The previous world record was set in Canada in 2001 and the performance lasted 181 hours.
