Sizemore, who is best known for playing soldiers in the movies "Saving Private Ryan" and "Black Hawk Down," was taken into custody Wednesday night at a Los Angeles house after authorities received an emergency call from the nephew of Sizemore's fiance, police spokesman Chris No said.
The fiance, who was not identified, declined treatment by ambulance personnel who responded to the scene, No said.
Sizemore was booked on charges of domestic violence and held on bail of $20,000.
The arrest was the latest brush with the law for Sizemore, who in May was arrested on an outstanding narcotics warrant from the central California town of Bakersfield.
Sizemore, 47, was convicted in 2003 of abusing his then girlfriend Heidi Fleiss, known as the "Hollywood Madam."
Sizemore was sentenced to six months in jail for abusing Fleiss, but the sentence was postponed to allow him to attend drug treatment. In 2005, he was sentenced to 17 months for a parole violation.
